DNA Paternity Testing for Peace of Mind Test

The peace of mind paternity test should be considered when you only need to satisfy your personal desire to find out the truth. These results can not be used for legal purposes as there is no chain of custody in place when the samples are collected. homeDNAdirect offers a complete Peace of Mind Test for only €220. This includes the sample collection kit, the analysis and a comprehensive report outlining the result. The test can be carried out with the samples of the Alleged Father and Child only, although inclusion of the Mother's sample when available is recommended. All tests are carried out on a 16 genetic marker basis. Results are available within 5-7 working days from the receipt of the samples at the laboratory.

Alternative samples to sending an oral swab (such as hair, semen and blood) can also be provided for discreet paternity test or where one of the parties to be tested is not readily available for swabbing. A list of non-standard samples is listed in our DNA Forensic Testing Services section.

How does it work?

A child inherits half of their DNA from the biological Mother and half their DNA from the biological Father. The DNA profiles are then compared (on a 16 genetic marker basis) to establish whether the alleged father is indeed the biological Father of the child. If the alleged father is the biological Father of the child, then all the loci will match and he will be included as being the Father with a guaranteed probability in excess of 99.99% when the mother is included. The probability is normally over 99.9% if the Mother is not included. If the man tested is not the biological Father of the child he will be 100% excluded resulting in a probability of paternity of 0%.

DNA Paternity Testing for Legal Purposes

This testing service can be used when results will be needed for legal purposes. Samples are collected and documented by a medical G.P. who must follow a strict chain of custody procedure. All people participating in the test are required to submit passport photographs and identification that can be documented to ensure strict chain of custody with all samples. This will ensure that your case is legally defensible.

DNA Testing for Infidelity

Immigration DNA Testing

homeDNAdirect works together with an approved Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS)/Department of Human Services supplier for immigration DNA testing.

The DNA testing can be used to both for Paternity or Maternity Testing purposes, as well as in cases of Relationship testing where it is not possible to test directly the parents. Once you present us with your case we can advise you on the best testing option depending on who is available for testing.

The test requires a certain protocol to be followed. The testing is normally performed at the embassies of the relative countries where the foreign parties are to be tested. homeDNAdirect can assist you locate the nearest embassy in the 16 most petitioned countries.

The cost of the test starts from €495, however will depend on how many people need to be tested. Shipping charges may also need to be included in certain cases and depending on where the various parties are located.

Express Testing Option

Our Express Service option allows your DNA samples to be processed within 2 working days from receipt of samples at our laboratory. For the additional service express fee you will have your results emailed to you within 2 working days. This service is offered to most DNA tests including Relationship DNA Testing.
